This Is D-PAN

Our Mission
D-PAN is dedicated to promoting professional development and access to the entertainment, visual and media arts fields for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Our History
D-PAN: Deaf Professional Arts Network was originally established in 2007 in Ferndale, Michigan as the Deaf Performing Artists Network. D-PAN was founded with the goal of creating top-quality ASL-centric music videos, making music and music culture more accessible than ever to millions of individuals worldwide who had traditionally been excluded from participation. With the help of talented deaf and hard of hearing performers and technicians along with the countless individuals who have offered their encouragement and support, we showed that it could be done. We remain committed to developing and supporting the best in ASL-centric video entertainment – but we recognized that we could use our strengths, experience and network of alliances to make an even greater difference for our constituents.
Our Future
The recognition that we could do more led us to make some changes … for the better. A new name, an expanded mission and a wealth of new programs – the new D-PAN is committed to serving the deaf and hard of hearing community – and we’re looking forward to working with you in creating an organization which makes a positive and pragmatic impact on people’s lives.
We invite you to find out more and encourage you to join The D-PAN Team.
